Download The Technique Of Embouchure PDF. The fingerings for the first five positions on the trumpet are called the fingerings of La Technique D Embouchure. "La Technique D Embouchure" is French for "the technique of embouchure" and is sometimes referred to as "The La Technique." The most important way to play a note on a straight pitch with good sound is to use the finger-holes in different positions. You can learn this from this article or from listening to recorded music by professional performers. There is a book by Francois Louis D'Aguilhem called La Technique D Embouchure which also teaches the positions. The book was published in 1812 but an online version is available from the American Institute of Musicology Website. The method of embouchure involves four kinds of movements: The fretting hand moves up and down through the fourth position (shown), then back to third position. The first finger comes up to fourth position, which is where the rest of the notes are fingered until fourth position has been reached for one register of six holes or until six holes have been passed through or until an octave higher has been reached for another register. Five other motions are possible: This will move the first finger up to first position where it will stay until the first register has been played. It is possible to go through six holes or two octaves with this motion. Movement of the hand back and forth between 3rd and 4th position as well as movement from 3rd to 2nd position, as shown by arrows 1 and 2, may be used as well as movement between these two positions. Practice these various movements until you can do them instinctually. Your embouchure should always be taught from a secure base that allows you full control over each movement without any distractions or distractions. In the position of the tone hole "a", only a small amount can be seen. In order to make a small sound, one finger has to touch a hole and also put it against the back of the mouth. The finger is supposed to be moved by a little bit of pressure from his/her thumb on the back of the finger. The air flow through this hole is then directed to both sides of this finger, which creates an oval-like shaped pressure wave, as opposed to a round one. This makes that tone softer and more covered up than with an open fingering from above or from below. In this position, all holes have been covered by fingers except for upper hole "c". There are many ways of playing a note, but the positions of the tone-holes can be useful. The first finger is moving towards 3rd position and will go to 2nd position where it will go back to 3rd position. In this position, almost all holes have been covered except for upper hole "b". In this way, more pressure is needed from the player's embouchure in order to get a soft tone from their trumpet. When playing soft tones, it is important that there is no way for the air to escape from the embouchure hole. In this position, all holes have been covered except for upper hole "c". cfa1e77820
